Parent Teacher Conference

So, last night and this morning, I met with 23 students' parents. Only 2 didn't show up, which isn't too bad. I had been a little concerned because I had to tell them how horrible their kids have been acting during Rotation classes, but not to worry. They were all very supportive and backed me up. I was grateful to know that there are so many parents out there who truly do want their kids to be good and learn to behave. Sometimes I wonder what my own kids acted like when they were at Oakwood Elementary. I hope they were respectful and nice to their teachers. I do know that Aaron got mad at his 3rd grade teacher and left the school and walked all the way home to Franklin. What a stinker. We couldn't find him for hours and were so scared. He was home watching cartoons when I took the other kids home from the "search" so that we could call the police for help. I didn't know whether to spank him or hug him, so I just cried with relief.

Amy In and Out

My daughter, Amy, and her friend, Sevaena, (not sure if I spelled that right) are in the process of driving a car from Coeur d'laene ( and I REALLY don't know how to spell that), to Phoenix for a friend of Amy's. They flew there yesterday afternoon, then drove for many hours and got to my house around 2 a.m. They've still got about 13 hours ahead of them today. Whew. Good thing they're young. It was great to see Amy for a few hours. She's a delightful person.

Friends are great!

Yesterday, I went to Soda Springs with Becky, Sunnie, Chris, and Juli, where we visited with Chelsie in her new home. We missed Andrea, Judy, and Jamie, who couldn't be there. They are all my teacher friends, past and present. I was just reminded again of how important friends are in my life and how blessed I am to have such great ones. I have old friends, new friends, friends from the past, present friends, family friends, teacher friends, church friends, community friends, and I'm thankful for each one of them.

I'm getting anxious!

When I left the school yesterday around 5 p.m., there was a little breeze and yes! I felt some fall in the air. I don't know where this picture came from - I just found it in some sample pictures, but isn't it pretty? Today was beautiful and it wasn't so hot. Loved it.

Thanks, Anneke.

It's funny that Anneke sent an email saying she is doing some blogging again, because I had been thinking of the very same thing. Facebook is fun, but I'm ready to do some serious catching up with people on blogs. So come on everyone who blogs - let's be blog buddies.

What? A whole year? I love to look at other people's blogs. I wonder why I haven't posted anything on my own for over a year? I actually can't even remember how to do this, but I'm giving it a go.
